  Meet Schuyler Grey

Schuyler Grey Johnson McMeekin is the founder and creative force behind The Schoop, where she brings a discerning eye, thoughtful leadership, and a deeply personal approach to every project.

Raised by parents who instilled both a strong work ethic and a reverence for creativity, Schuyler grew up at the intersection of precision and artistry. With a Wall Street trader father and a high-fashion editorialist mother, she learned early on the value of hard work, imagination, and intention. These influences shaped her desire to build a career rooted in passion—one that allows her to create with purpose and share that enthusiasm with others.

Schuyler approaches each collaboration with genuine excitement and care, finding true fulfillment and joy in helping a project reach its fullest potential. Clients who work with her experience a highly engaged, hands-on partnership— one defined by trust, openness, and shared vision. She believes wholeheartedly in collaboration, not delegation, ensuring that every space is a true reflection of the people who live, work, or gather there.

Her philosophy, “imagination with intention,” guides every design decision. The result is spaces that are not only visually compelling, but deeply functional and thoughtfully tailored to each client’s lifestyle and needs. Schuyler describes her aesthetic as a refined blend of her three design C’s: Classic × Coastal × Contemporary.

Approaching its eighth year this March, The Schoop has completed over 350 creative collaborations spanning residential and restaurant design, event planning and wedding coordination, storefront curation, visual merchandising, and beyond.

Outside of her work, Schuyler finds inspiration in the outdoors, travel, art galleries, and museums. She values movement, music, and wellness, enjoys creating handmade floral arrangements, and is deeply committed to giving back to her community—supporting both people and animals in need. Newly married to her wonderfully supportive husband, Jesse, she is embracing this new chapter of life with gratitude and joy.

At the heart of both her personal and professional life is an appreciation for life’s little things— the details, moments, and connections that bring everything together beautifully.

GET TO KNOW SCHUYLER
Here are a few things about me, because sometimes it’s fun to see how you relate to someone!

🩵 My favorite colors are (no surprise here) blue, white, and beige.

🍕🍣 I take my pizza and sushi consumption very seriously! I joke that my body comp is an even 50/50 split between the two.

💍 I am married to an amazing man and we have two kittens that were rescued from Alabama, Rip + Ranger 🐾

🥤A McDonald’s Diet Coke is my magic elixir

🎶 Music is always playing in my world. I was in Spotify’s top 1% of listeners this year and last, and yes, I will turn on a speaker just to run inside for two minutes.

🫂 I believe that giving back to your community, at large or even one person, whenever you can is so important. If you can’t give with money, give with time!

🧘‍♀️ I am an extroverted introvert. I am outgoing and bubbly (always have been!) but I am most happy somewhere calm and quiet.

🛒 I return the shopping cart to its designated place every single time, rain or shine. You can tell everything you need to know about a person from that one simple action (or lack thereof).

🛋️ If I could offer one piece of advice to someone starting a home project, it’s this: trends come and go, what speaks to you and makes you feel at home is what matters most!

🫶 I pour my heart into this work. They say when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life, but I’d argue the opposite. When you love what you do, you never stop working, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
