Meet Schuyler Grey
Schuyler Grey Johnson is the visionary behind The Schoop, serving as its founder, owner, and driving force.
Raised by parents who instilled a strong work ethic and a love for creativity, Schuyler's upbringing alongside her Wall Street trader father and high-fashion editorialist mother fueled her passion to work hard and love what she did. This led her to establish her own venture where she could pursue her passion daily and spread that enthusiasm to others.
Schuyler approaches each collaboration with unbridled excitement, relishing the satisfaction that accompanies reaching the full potential of a project. When you partner with her, you're guaranteed her wholehearted dedication. Schuyler thrives on togetherness, ensuring your input is valued and the outcome is a true reflection of your identity; she always says it is about "collaboration, not delegation". Her ethos revolves around embracing the liberty of self-expression that leaves a positive impact. Her guiding principle, imagination with intention, underscores Schuyler's philosophy in approaching all endeavors. This mindset is reflected in her design work, curating spaces that are not only beautiful and aesthetic, but functional for your family and its specific needs in every aspect. She classifies her personal taste as a mix of her "3 Design C's": Classic x Coastal x Contemporary
From a young age, Schuyler could be found spending the majority of her time working or getting creative. During her time at Skidmore College, she concurrently engaged with a high-fashion women's clothing brand, working closely with the designer to translate her vision into captivating social media content and engaging with prospective buyers. She orchestrated photoshoots, curated content, and managed postings. This creative flair extended to styling homes and interiors, garnering her recognition and admiration before she officially opened for business. Following college, Schuyler transitioned her passion for home decor into Schuyler Grey Home, DBA The Schoop, a business that effectively transformed many spaces across the nation, blending her remote and in-person design expertise.
The Schoop recently celebrated its seventh birthday, having engaged in over 350 creative collaborations of all sizes, ranging from home and restaurant design to event planning, wedding coordination, storefront curation, visual merchandizing, and more.
Outside of work, Schuyler spends a lot of time in the outdoors and loves exploring new places, art galleries, and museums. She enjoys dancing and music, prioritizes fitness, creates handmade flower arrangements, and enjoys giving back. Schuyler is happily engaged to her fiancé, Jesse, and is looking forward to this new chapter of her personal life. Aside from that, she is the first to tell you her two kittens, Rip and Ranger, and her beloved black lab Briggs are her best friends, and she never misses a Pizza Friday. Her happiest moments occur when she's surrounded by loved ones in an environment radiating tranquility and joy. Both in her personal life and professional pursuits, Schuyler underscores the significance of life's "little things," for they are what tie everything together beautifully.
